This is a 43 year old single grain whisky from the North of Scotland distillery, a 1964 vintage matured in seasoned oak. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle, at natural cask strength.
It comes from Scott's Selection, the independent bottling company formed by Robert Scott after he retired as Master Distiller for George Christie and the Speyside Distillery. He used his connections to acquire a few casks, including at least three of North of Scotland grain whisky.
On the palate it is described as full of maple syrup, with a rich texture of vanilla and toffee, toasty oak and corn sweetness.
Tasting Notes
