Seagram's 7 Crown is an American blended whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 75cl plastic bottle. It is produced at MGP of Indiana.
The blend is made of about 25% straight whiskey and 75% grain neutral spirits, aged in oak. The name goes back to the Seagram Company, and 7 Crown was the best-selling whiskey in the United States in the mid-twentieth century. It scored 90 points from the Beverage Testing Institute.
The nose has toasted grains, popcorn, caramel and brown sugar. The palate is smooth and slightly sweet, with soft cereal grain and caramel. The finish is short and creamy, with a little vanilla.
