Seagram's VO is a blended Canadian whisky in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 40% ABV and aged for a minimum of six years in oak barrels.
The blend was first put together in 1913 from private stocks for a family wedding, and the initials stand for "Very Own". It is now distilled and blended at Diageo's Valleyfield distillery in Quebec, where a sweet corn whisky and a rye whisky are distilled and matured separately in oak before being married together.
The nose offers dried apricot, lemon curd and spicy rye with a light oak undertone. The palate is soft and buttery, with marmalade, honey, cinnamon and a little coffee. The finish is brisk and spicy, with cinnamon and oak.
