Seelbach's Private Reserve Batch 2 is a barrel-strength Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 65.05% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a Bardstown bourbon made from 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley.
The blend comes from Seelbach's 9-year Private Reserve and was finished for four months in a single California Cabernet Sauvignon barrel from Aonair Winery on Howell Mountain, Napa. The release numbers 240 bottles.
The nose brings strawberry jam, molasses and white pepper, with buttered toast and dried fruit. The palate is syrupy, with strawberry preserves, molasses and sweet vanilla over spicy oak, and the finish is long, with toasted oak and warming heat.
