Seelbach's Private Reserve Double Stacked is a bourbon blend finished in two maple syrup barrel types. It combines an 8-year Kentucky bourbon finished for 14 months in Bissell Farm maple barrels with a 5-year, 9-month Indiana bourbon finished for 3 and 6 months in brûléed maple barrels. No maple flavouring is added. It is bottled at 55.5% ABV in a 750 ml bottle.
Tasting Notes
White pepper and almond, then vanilla bean and turbinado sugar, with light baking spice, chocolate-covered cherries and maple fudge
Sticky bun, molasses, freshly baked bread and toasted pecans, then leather and cracked black pepper
Medium length, with black pepper and residual sweetness fading together and maple as a subtle backdrop
