Shackleton Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl)

Shackleton is a blended Scotch whisky created by Richard Paterson, master blender at The Dalmore, as a tribute to the explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. In 1907 Shackleton took 25 cases of Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Malt on his Antarctic expedition, and in 2007 eleven bottles were found preserved in the ice around his base camp. Paterson analysed the whisky to reproduce its flavour and composition. The blend joins Mackinlay whisky with a selection of the best Highland pure malts. The nose offers vanilla, ginger, toffee and apple with cinnamon. The palate has pineapple and mango, citrus and honey. The finish is warm, with praline and a light smoky note.
