An Islay single malt from Bowmore, dating from the 1970s and bottled at 43% in a large 100cl bottle. The label carries the name Sherriff's Bowmore.
Bowmore, built in 1779, was the first licensed distillery on Islay. John Bell Sherriff bought it in 1887, sold it in 1892 and bought it again in 1925, before it passed to Stanley Morrison in 1963. This whisky would have been distilled under the Sherriff group, which explains the label, and it is a contemporary of the Black Bowmores.
