Shibui 30 Year Single Grain is a Japanese whisky distilled from indica rice fermented with Okinawan black koji, then run through stainless-steel pot stills. It was distilled, matured and bottled in Okinawa, and comes in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It spent thirty years in ex-bourbon, sherry and European virgin white oak casks.
The nose is described as cinnamon-topped peaches and cream with earl grey tea. On the palate come tropical fruit, raw honey, banana, bergamot and coconut, followed by a drying finish of spiced oak.
