Shibui Pure Malt Whisky (75cl, 43%)

Shibui Pure Malt is a blended malt whisky bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It marries Niigata Japanese malt whisky with Lowland Scotch single malts, all from malted barley and double distilled in copper pot stills. The whisky is matured in American ex-bourbon barrels and European Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in Japanese mizunara oak. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The brand describes walnut, coffee and chocolate. The nose is dry and spicy, with crushed nuts, coriander seed, mizunara spice and salted peanuts. The palate brings caramel, bitter orange, sherry fruit, mango, malt, pepper and clove, and the spice carries through the finish.
