Mizunara oak finish
Koshi-No is a blended malt from Shinobu, matured first in bourbon and sherry casks and then finished in Japanese mizunara oak. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with its natural colour and without chill-filtering. The malt whiskies in it come from various distilleries, because Shinobu, a brand founded in 2017 by the Niigata brewer Ken Usami, has not been producing for long enough to supply its own. Mizunara is a Japanese oak with a strongly aromatic influence. The nose offers vanilla, plums, candied orange peel, toffee, sweet smoke, hazelnuts, herbal tea, sandalwood, mint and spices. The palate is very soft, with citrus, vanilla, sweet spice and smoky oak. The finish is moderate, with pepper and wood spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
