Shinobu – Pure Malt 15 Years (70cl)

Shinobu Pure Malt 15 Years is a Japanese malt whisky from the Shinobu distillery in Niigata prefecture. Shinobu is the Japanese word for tolerance, a name chosen because the distillery wants to keep the spirit of the Samurai in its whisky. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is matured for at least 15 years, first in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks and then in Japanese Mizunara oak. The nose is woody, with blueberries, lemon peel, leather, cinnamon and ginger. On the palate it shows ripe fruit, lemon peel, cinnamon, ginger and oak.
