Shortcross Rye & Malt is a double-distilled Irish whiskey from Rademon Estate Distillery in Crossgar, County Down. It is made entirely from Irish malted rye and malted barley, and matured for at least five years in virgin Chinkapin oak and ex-bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
The rye brings spice and fruit, while the barley adds sweetness and body. The nose offers soft spice, fresh orange peel and creamy caramel fudge. Stem ginger, apricot and green apple lead on the palate, followed by dark honey and warming rye spice. The finish is velvety, with marmalade, fudge and gentle oak.
