Signatory 1998 Ayrshire Grain (70cl)

This is a 1998 single grain Scotch whisky from Ayrshire, bottled by Signatory in a 70cl bottle. The colour is sunflower oil. The nose is crisp and delicate, with white grapes, white pepper, pears and icing sugar, plus a roasted note from the barrel, a touch of lime and a slick, margarine-like hint, ending on creamed coconut. The palate is light and refreshing, with green apple, a squeeze of pear, pencil shavings and a little more citrus.
