This is an 18-year-old single malt from 2008, bottled by Signatory as Speyside (M). The "M" is widely believed to stand for Macallan, though the distillery's name does not appear on the label. It is Edition #18 in the Exceptional Cask sub-series of Signatory's 100 Proof range, which began in late 2023 and uses the traditional British 100 Proof, 57.1% ABV, as its bottling strength. The sub-series was added in 2024 and has black labels. The whisky was matured in several first-fill Oloroso sherry butts and vatted together, so this is a small batch bottling rather than a single cask.
