Silvio Carta Island of Sardinia is a single malt made on the island by the Silvio Carta company, and it ties the whisky closely to its Sardinian home. It is matured for a long period in ex-vernaccia chestnut wood.
The release is limited to 364 bottles.
The nose combines malt, honey, vanilla and toasted wood with light salty hints of the sea. The palate is soft, with almond, raisin, vanilla and caramel and a touch of salt. The finish is long and warm, balanced and slightly marine.
