Silvio Carta – Whisky From Sardinia (50cl)

This is a single malt from the Silvio Carta distillery in Sardinia, made entirely in Sardinia and twice distilled in a copper still. Only 1,500 bottles were produced, in a 50cl size with a presentation case. The whisky spends four years in very old Sardinian chestnut casks that were used for Vernaccia di Oristano and sit a few kilometres from the sea, which brings a complex saline note. The nose offers candied citrus peel, dried fruit, almonds and ginger. The palate is soft, with honey, cherries in spirit, cloves and a saline edge. The finish is long and clean, with spice and dried fruit.
