SirDavis is an American whisky created by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in a joint venture with Moët Hennessy, with Dr Bill Lumsden as master distiller. It is named after her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a Prohibition-era moonshiner and farmer.
The mash is 51% rye and 49% malted barley. It was distilled in Indiana, then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, blended and bottled in Texas at 44% ABV, in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is Seville orange and raisin with clove, cinnamon, ginger, Demerara sugar and toffee. The palate is rich and buttery, with rye spice and a citrus top note, and the finish is soft and honeyed.
