Sliabh Liag The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

A blended Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag Distillers of Donegal, and the first release from the distillery. It combines double distilled and triple distilled single malts with soft grain whiskey and a hint of peated malt, and is hand bottled at Carrick at 46%, non-chill-filtered. The name comes from the selkies of Donegal folklore, seals said to come ashore beneath the Sliabh Liag cliffs. The nose is fresh and malty, with green apple, honey and a buttery richness. The palate is soft, with orchard fruit, ripe red fruit, light smoke and oaky sweetness, and the finish is long, closing on warming spice.
