Smoke Wagon Malted Straight Rye is a straight rye whiskey from Nevada H&C Distilling Co. in Las Vegas, bottled at cask strength of around 58% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The mash bill is 51% rye and 49% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged in new charred American oak. The malt comes first, with the rye following later.
The nose is sweet malt, caramel and cereal. The palate is creamy malted barley with caramel and cinnamon spice. The finish is long, with black pepper, rye spice and a thread of smoke.
