Smoke Wagon Small Batch is a high-rye straight bourbon from Nevada H&C Distilling Co. in Las Vegas, the first distillery to open in the city. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
The mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, and the blend combines bourbons aged 4 to 5 years in the Nevada desert, in charred oak. Younger barrels bring rye spice and older ones a creamy sweetness.
On the nose it offers brown sugar, dried apricot, cinnamon, caramel apple and vanilla. The palate is creamy, with caramel, vanilla, white pepper and rye spice, and the finish is smooth and lingering with oak and leather.
