Smokehead is an intensely peated single malt from Islay, in a 70cl bottle. It was created in 2010 by Ian MacLeod, the owner of Tamdhu and Glengoyne, and is described as rich, with a seaweed character.
The nose has heavy smoke and peat, followed by lemon, fresh ginger, plum jam and sea air. The palate starts sweet, with honey and peat, before turning to peppery spice and seaweed. The finish is long, dry and very peaty, with spice, mandarin and a lingering peat note.
