Smokehead High Voltage is a peated single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. It is the higher-strength edition of Smokehead, a brand launched in 2010 by Ian MacLeod, the company that owns Tamdhu and Glengoyne. The distillery that makes the whisky is kept secret.
The nose is dense, maritime peat with cereal, vanilla, caramel and black pepper. The palate is warm, with continuing peat, malted barley, toasted dried fruit, citrus and beach bonfire smoke. The finish is long, with briny marine peat set against vanilla, citrus and smoked paprika.
