Smooth Ambler – Contradiction Rye Whiskey (75cl, 52.5%)

Contradiction is a rye whiskey from Smooth Ambler in West Virginia, bottled at 52.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of four straight rye mashbills: a 95% rye from Indiana, Smooth Ambler's own 88% rye distilled in West Virginia, and two Tennessee ryes at 70% and 51% rye. It is non-chill filtered and released in small numbered batches. The notes describe nutmeg and strawberry on the nose, with tropical fruit and cream soda. The palate is creamy and spicy, with mint, orange zest and brown baking spices, and the finish is long, with toasted oak and cinnamon.
