Smooth Ambler Old Scout 'San Diego Barrel Boys' 6 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon (75cl, 55.3%)

This is a single barrel bourbon from Smooth Ambler's Old Scout range, aged for 6 years and bottled at 55.3% ABV in a 75cl bottle. West Virginia is its stated origin. The barrel was privately chosen by a group called the San Diego Barrel Boys, so the bottling comes from one barrel only. In the tasting notes, the nose offers caramel and vanilla with toasted oak and a lift of rye spice. The palate is full and bold, with brown sugar, baking spice and oak tannin, followed by a long, warming, dry finish.
