Speyburn 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a large 1.75 litre bottle. It comes from Speyburn Distillery, founded in 1897 in Rothes, which draws its process water from the Granty Burn.
The whisky matures in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry casks.
The nose has honey water, ripe mandarin, toffee and vanilla, with fresh orange, cinnamon and red apple developing. The palate is toffee and butterscotch, then apple pie, a touch of iodine, lemon peel and faint smoke. The finish is long, with vanilla, citrus peel and a light, dry spice at the end.
