Speyburn 15 Year is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky aged fifteen years, in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
It is matured in a vatting of ex-American oak bourbon barrels and ex-Spanish oak sherry casks. Speyburn was founded in 1897 in Rothes, draws its water from the Granty Burn and uses worm tub condensers on its spirit stills.
The nose opens with pear, baked apple, honeyed citrus and vanilla, over dark chocolate, raisins and warm oak. The palate is soft and malty, with toffee, orange peel, a touch of leather and gentle spice. The finish is medium to long and warming, with oak sweetness and orchard fruit.
