Speyburn 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 18 years in American oak and Spanish oak casks. It is dark golden in colour and described as full-bodied, with a long finish.
The nose is sweet toffee, sugared almonds and chunky tropical fruit, with caramelised sugar and candied apple leading to a very slight honeyed smokiness. On the palate there is creamy dark chocolate and toffee, a gentle oak spiciness and a touch of citrus. The finish is long and slightly smoky, with a bittersweet edge.
