Speyburn Arranta Casks is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky with no age statement, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. Speyburn was founded in 1897 in Rothes, Moray, and still uses worm tub condensers.
The name comes from the Gaelic word for bold. The whisky is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak casks that were air-dried before filling.
The nose is toffee and vanilla with honey, coconut, baking spice, shortbread and a thread of rose water. The palate is vanilla wafer and banana bread, then malt syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with citrus peel, honey, vanilla and oak.
