Speyburn – Rum-Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky (40%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Speyburn Distillery, bottled at 40% ABV. It is matured first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Caribbean rum casks, which bring tropical fruit and a gentle caramelised sweetness. The nose is tropical fruit, green apple, citrus zest and caramelised banana, with vanilla and soft oak. The palate begins with buttery pastry and peach, followed by tropical fruit, soft caramel and delicate cinnamon. The finish is smooth and lightly spiced, with lingering vanilla and gentle tropical fruit.
