This is a Speymalt from Macallan, a Gordon & Macphail bottling of Macallan single malt from the 2001 vintage. It was matured in sherry casks, bottled at its natural strength, and has a copper-orange colour. The nose is rich, powerful and musky, with apricot, nuts and a waxy, powdery cocoa note, followed by sandalwood, exotic fruit and citrus as it opens. On the palate it is dense and tight, with peanuts, dried fruit, liquorice and candied citrus, then beeswax, lavender honey and clove. The finish is long, with tobacco, black olive, bitter chocolate and vanilla.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
