Twisted Oak is an 8 year old blended malt Scotch whisky from Spiritfilled, developed by Alexandre Sakon and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made entirely from malt whisky from several distilleries, and it is the first blended malt Scotch to be finished in a fully NEOC-rebuilt cask.
For the NEOC process, the cask is taken apart, the staves are shaved back by a few millimetres to reach seasoned oak, then re-toasted over open flame and rebuilt by hand before filling. The finish is longer and drier, with clove and oak.
On the nose there is baked apple and honey, and the palate brings honeyed orchard fruit, soft vanilla and warming spice. The finish is clove and toasted oak.
