This is a ten-year-old Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, with no added colour and no chill-filtration. Springbank malts all of its own barley, and this bottling won its category at the World Whisky Awards in 2014.
The colour is light amber. The nose has a mild coastal breeze with damp peat, fresh fruit, orange peel, heather, honey, malt and vanilla. The palate is oily, with spice, pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon, then salted caramel, toffee and drying peat. The finish is sweet and salty.
