Springbank 12 Year Old B23 is a limited cask strength single malt from the Campbeltown distillery, bottled at 55.9% in a 70cl bottle without a tin. It was matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
Springbank is lightly peated and distilled two and a half times. It was first bottled as a single malt in 1828 and is known for its salty, maritime character.
The nose brings salt, caramel, toffee, a little smoke and dark chocolate. The palate is robust and slightly oily, with a little smoke and dark chocolate again. The finish is long, with fine sweetness and restrained smoke.
