Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength is a Campbeltown single malt from the 2023 Batch 24 release, bottled at 54.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition.
The whisky was matured in a combination of 60% ex-bourbon and 40% sherry casks. Springbank itself is lightly peated and distilled two and a half times.
The nose opens with toffee apple sweetness, parma ham and hazelnut marzipan. The palate brings soft peat smoke, morello cherries and aniseed over a creamy texture reminiscent of custard creams. The finish shows brine, oil and salted caramel, with persistent peat smoke.
