Springbank 13 Year Old Local Barley is a special edition from the Campbeltown distillery, made with barley grown at Glencraigs Farm, close to the distillery. The variety is Belgravia, and it was distilled into a lightly peated spirit and aged for 13 years in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is delicately floral, recalling malt barns, with savoury biscuit and cereal notes, then vanilla and custard from the casks. A fruity touch appears as the whisky opens. The palate follows the nose and adds honey, and the finish carries salted caramel.
