Springbank 17 Year Old 2002 is a Campbeltown single malt at 47.8% in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled in November 2002 and bottled in October 2020, after fourteen years in bourbon and rum barrels and three in a Madeira hogshead. A total of 9,200 bottles were released.
Springbank is family-owned and carries out every step of production on site. This is a medium-peated, 2.5-times-distilled malt.
The nose is Madeira-soaked dried fruit, honey, sea salt and gentle peat smoke. The palate is oily and rich, with figs, dates, malt and oak spice. The finish is long, with sweet wine, smoke and sea air.
