This is a single cask Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled for the German whisky specialist Scoma. It was distilled in August 2000, matured in a sherry cask and bottled in March 2019 at 18 years old and 56.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Only 247 bottles were filled.
The nose has dried fruits, dark toffee, orange peel and leather, with waxy, oily workshop notes and a little coastal smoke. On the palate it is oily and full, with fruitcake, cocoa and roasted nuts set against sea salt and earthy spice. The finish is long and drying, with sherry richness, coastal smoke and spiced oak.
