This is the 2022 release of Springbank 18 Year Old, a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46% vol.
The nose shows ripe autumn fruits such as plums and raisins, then caramel and fresh almond cake with a hint of oak. On the palate are fine baking spices of the kind found in gingerbread and fruit bread, with shortbread, toffee, honey and marzipan. The finish is balanced, with dark chocolate and raisins, touches of aniseed and clove, and a very subtle note of smoke.
