This is a single cask Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, distilled in 1993 and bottled by Murray McDavid in summer 2017 as part of its Mission Gold series. It is 23 years old and bottled at 50.4% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was double matured, finishing in a first fill Koval bourbon hogshead, cask 150033.
The nose is lemon zest, vanilla and honeyed malt, with wax, oil and a subtle coastal smokiness. The palate is oily and layered, with toffee, citrus, baked apple, pepper and light oak tannin. The finish is long and drying, with vanilla, citrus peel, gentle smoke and spiced oak.
