Springbank Local Barley 13 Years is a Campbeltown single malt made from Belgravia barley grown at the West Glencraigs farm nearby. It was distilled in June 2010 and matured for 13 years, 60% in bourbon casks and 40% in sherry casks. It is bottled at 54.1% in a 70cl bottle, from an edition of 8,400 bottles.
The nose is fruity, with ripe bananas, boiled sweets and cinnamon. The palate starts oily, then turns peppery and malty, with strawberries, brandy and Parma violets. The finish brings faint peat smoke, fruit gum sweetness, toasted oats, earthy notes and a slightly dry close.
