St. George Baller American Single Malt Whiskey

Baller is an American single malt from St. George Spirits, made from 100% American barley, mostly two-row pale malt with the remainder lightly roasted. It is distilled in eau de vie pot stills and aged in used bourbon casks and French oak wine casks, and it is filtered through maple charcoal. The whiskey is then finished in casks that held house-made umeshu, a Japanese-style stone fruit liqueur made from California-grown ume fruit. The label art, by master distiller Lance Winters, shows St. George as a samurai defending a barrel of whiskey against a dragon. The nose is crisp and dry with bright fruit and a hint of smoke. The palate opens with malt sweetness and maple charcoal, then turns to plum, mango and lychee, and the smoky finish builds.
