St. George Baller Single Malt Whiskey (75cl, 47%)

Baller is an American single malt from St. George Spirits in Alameda, California, bottled at 47% ABV. It is made from 100% American barley and was launched in 2016 with Japanese-style highballs in mind. It was aged for a minimum of four years in used bourbon casks and French oak wine casks, filtered through maple charcoal, then finished in casks that held the distillery's own umeshu. Master distiller Lance Winters describes it as a California take on the Japanese spin on Scotch whisky. The nose is crisp and dry with bright fruit and a hint of smoke. The palate offers malt sweetness, maple charcoal, plum, mango and lychee, and the finish is smoky and lingering.
