Baller is a Californian whiskey made with Japanese-style highballs in mind, which gives it its name. It is made from 100% American barley, mostly two-row pale malted barley with the remainder lightly roasted, and distilled in eau de vie pot stills.
It is aged in used bourbon casks and French oak wine casks, filtered through maple charcoal, then finished in casks that held a house-made umeshu, a Japanese-style plum liqueur made from California-grown ume fruit.
The palate is crisp and dry, with a touch of malt sweetness, a hint of lychee and a nutty almond character. The smoky finish lingers and builds with each sip.
