St. George Single Malt Whiskey

An American single malt from St. George Spirits, where master distiller Lance Winters has made single malt since joining in 1996. The first barrels were filled in 1998. This is the 23rd release, blended by head distiller Dave Smith from 26 casks. The casks include Kentucky bourbon barrels, apple brandy casks, French oak, and California Sauternes-style and Port casks. They range from four and a half to 12 years old, with cask blends going back 19 years. Some of the two-row barley is smoked over beech and alder wood. The nose offers butterscotch, fruitcake, orange oil, walnuts and baklava. The palate opens with dark chocolate and espresso, and the finish brings bergamot, clove and fresh gingersnaps.
