This is a single malt from St Magdalene, distilled in 1981 and bottled in 1997 by Gordon & MacPhail. It was released under their Connoisseurs Choice range.
The whisky was distilled two years before St Magdalene closed, which places it among the final years of production at the distillery. Gordon & MacPhail chose to release it as a vintage single malt, which is why the 1981 distillation year features in the name.
