Buffalo Trace's usual description of Stagg centres on chocolate, brown sugar, cherry, clove, rye spice and smoky oak.
The nose brings dark caramel, brown sugar, cherry, molasses, cinnamon, gingerbread and black pepper over charred oak. The palate is full-bodied, with caramelised sugar, dark fruit, chocolate, cherry, baking spice, clove and seasoned oak. The finish is long and warming, with cherry, clove, oak, spice and smoky sweetness.
