Staoisha (Bunnahabhain) 2013 Coasts & Shores, Berry Bros & Rudd (53.4%)

This is a single cask Islay malt bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd in its Coasts & Shores range, at 53.4% abv. Staoisha is the name given to the heavily peated malts made at Bunnahabhain. The nose opens with immediate iodine and salty sea spray. The palate is strong, with earthy peat smoke that slowly gives way to fresh mint, green apples, kiwi and a little coal. The finish is long and salty, with liquorice, almonds and peat.
