Starward – Left-Field (70cl, 40%)

Starward Left-Field is an Australian single malt from a distillery in Melbourne, bottled at 40%. It matures entirely in ex-red wine casks of French oak, sourced from leading Australian wine regions and partly charred. The distillery makes its whisky from regional ingredients, including dark barley malt and dark brewers yeast. Maturation in these casks takes only three to four years, shaped by Melbourne's changeable weather of dry, warm inland air and cold, damp winds from the Antarctic. It is described as full-bodied, with light and dark fruit and spicy oak.
