Starward Muscat is a single malt from the Starward distillery in Melbourne, bottled at 48%. It is a first for the distillery, matured for four years in barrels from Rutherglen, Victoria that previously held Muscat fortified wine. A combination of barrels filled while still wet and charred barrels is used. The whisky is described as rich, sweet and fragrant, with lychee, raisins, roasted almonds and cinnamon, ending in a harmonious finish of toasted oak.
