Starward Nova is a single malt from Melbourne, Australia, bottled at 41% in a 75cl bottle. It is made from 100% Australian malted barley and matured entirely in Australian red wine barrels (Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir), rather than finished in them.
Starward was founded by David Vitale in 2007, and Nova is its signature single malt. The nose shows bright red berries, orchard fruit and soft oak spice. Red berry pudding, vanilla, caramel and spice follow on the palate, and the long finish keeps fruit and baking spice.
